This bulletin aims to keep all partners up-to-date on quality improvement work taking place through the North East and North Cumbria Provider Collaborative (NENC Providers). The latest NHS England Oversight Framework rankings for Q3 2025/26 show a mixed but broadly encouraging picture across the North East and North Cumbria, with several trusts demonstrating clear improvement and continued resilience in a challenging national context.

The NENC Provider Collaborative has agreed the Elective Care Priorities for 2026/27. These priorities form the Elective Recovery Local Delivery Plan, which sets out how the region will work together to improve planned care over the next year.

Hospitals across the North East and North Cumbria are coming together to develop a clear plan for the future of robotic‑assisted surgery. A new Robotics Steering Group will lead this work. 

Demand on emergency services continues to rise across the North East and North Cumbria, and the North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) is constantly working behind the scenes to stay one step ahead. 

The Staff Mental Health and Wellbeing Hub provides free and confidential support to everyone working in health and care across the North East and North Cumbria.

The Medicines Manufacturing Centre (MMC) is proud to announce that it has been awarded Foundation status through the North East Combined Authority SHINE programme.

The NENC Provider Collaborative is hosting an ENT Engagement Event on 12th May, bringing together colleagues from primary and secondary care to strengthen collaboration and explore opportunities to improve ENT pathways across the region.

The Elephant in the Room campaign is now live across the North East and North Cumbria, helping young people aged 15–24 feel more informed, confident and supported when it comes to their sexual health.
