NCIC appoints Dr Stephen Singleton as new Chair

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (NCIC) has appointed Dr Stephen Singleton as its new Chair.

Dr Singleton brings wide experience from across the NHS. He is a former GP in north Cumbria and has worked as a public health doctor. For the past 12 years, he has also supported NHS teams as an executive coach and improvement mentor.

Earlier in his career, Dr Singleton held senior leadership roles in the NHS. This included seven years as Medical Director and Interim Chief Executive at the North East Strategic Health Authority. More recently, he led clinical work for the Covid Coordination and Response Centre at The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Dr Singleton takes over from Teresa Griffiths, who has been Interim Chair since October 2025. Teresa will stay on the Board as a Non‑Executive Director.

NCIC says it looks forward to working with Dr Singleton as he leads the Board and supports staff to deliver safe, high‑quality care for patients across north Cumbria.
